Oh Canada...

Tour of the taxidermy museum.

I thought David was taking a picture. Not cool.

Picking up cruise passengers.

David's pose BEHIND the flowers.

It looks much more artistic.

At one point it was so foggy I couldn't see the road. Very scary.

It was super windy, but the sun was just starting to come out!

These were some fake sheep up on the rocks. Everyone thought they were real so they started shouting "MOUNTAIN GOATTTTS!!!!" Too bad they weren't even goats.

These are the husky puppies that were born on the 4th of July. Oh-so-cute!

This is one of the mommy huskies. She had the most beautiful blue eyes.

Look how cute he is!

This is the mammoth that passed away last year.

When they are still too young to mush, they are tired all of the time and sleep forever!

Yak butts.

We all know this kid got made fun of in school and had his lunch money stolen.

Emerald Lake was BEAUTIFUL.

Super windy.

The little engine that could. Stories say that it would try to make it up the Yukon but some parts were so steep the passengers had to get out and push.

Another SUPER beautiful lake.

Keep your furniture in the same room...

Today was our day off for the week. David's buddy in the branch got us a sweet deal on a zip lining tour. The zip line is supposed to be the best in all of Southern Alaska. Let me tell you, we were not let down! First we started out in Skagway and took a small bus to Dyea (a ghost town) and that took about 20 minutes. The scenery was gorgeous and we saw a seal on the way there. After the bus ride we were transferred to what is called a Unimog. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unimog
It got us up 800 ft. in elevation in less than a mile and a half. There were 11 zips total, the longest being 743 ft.
<-Also, notice David's lack of beard. He shaved it and now he looks Mexican. (But don't worry, it IS coming back)
May not look like much but this thing could climb onto the roof of your house.
 "I'm a tourist."

Before David tightened his harness, the guide told him to make sure "he had all his furniture in the same room." David knew the helmets were green so he dressed accordingly.
I may look timid in this picture, but I had just done a front flip off the platform. Nailed it.

 When in doubt...chill out.
 Us in all our gear.
We were zipping over these amazing waterfalls and streams.
Tour Guide, Addison, David, Tour Guide, Steven (the guy who got us the sweet tour)
Finishing up the day. On the way down we noticed that the driver's fishing pole was sticking out of his sun roof. Apparently there is AMAZING fishing at the bottom of the tour. We could see salmon swimming in schools in the stream.
Dyea (Die-EE)
 One of the platforms.
View from the Unimog trip down.
 David lookin' good.
Some guy fishing in the background.
Last ride of the day on the Unimog. Going down was just as cool as going up.

(insert something witty that preferably rhymes and pertains to the post)

So we've kind of been slacking on this whole "blogging" thing. It kind of feels like homework at times. Anywho, this is a picture of the view from Reid Falls. We went on a 4 mile little excursion/hike/walk from our apartment to the Gold Rush Cemetery and from there to the falls, which are just a stone's throw away. It was really refreshing.

The mysterious and magical Alaskan Fireweed. We have it on a few Tshirts that we sell at work... but we're not 100% positive that it was fireweed... or that the flowers on the shirts at work that claim to be fireweed are in fact, fireweed.

We found a nugget of gold that was so heavy that no prospectors could ever take it. Especially because it was chained to a tree. Actually it was just a huge rock that required a few cans of spray paint to make a perfect background for tourists in matching clothing to take pictures.

Addi lookin' good in front of the falls.

Awkward slanted rock picture. That Dynex tripod is coming in QUITE handy.

Addi still lookin' good in front of the falls.

Blue Steel. 'Nuff said.

More pictures at the falls.

Shrimp was on sale at the grocery store. Soooooooo we bought a pound. Addi made a delicious main course, and I made the instant potatoes. I love shrimp. I love garlic. I love butter. The three naturally go well together. Bacon bits might have been the only possible addition.
This one's for Leeshie. I played basketball a few days before we came up to Alaska, when my left foot had swollen due to a reaction to the medicine for my wart. I hobbled around on my right foot for about an hour before deciding it was time to call it quits. The result was a blood blister that remained for nearly 2 months. Cool huh?

We have fun together. On GUARD! Oh yeah, and there are my potatoes in a tupperware thing.

I looooooooove shrimp.

Top notch quality. Addison can cook.
So this was on our way out to the falls. We found an old tipped over train car and just decided to take a few silly pictures.

Addi caught me doing some stretches of the gluteus maximus.

This one is for Chris Andrews and Alesha too. Remember the picture of him doing that in Mexico out of the front of una lanchita?

Well, these last few pictures are from July 3rd at about 11 p.m. The firework crews had to work in a nearby town the following night (tonight), so our show was last night. It was a little chilly, but it was fun to go down to the docks and see some fireworks. Until our next adventure, Bye Bye.
